This is the final twofer singles release before New York City vocalist Naama cuts her full-length album, Dream With Me on June 6, 2025…here are “Street Of Dreams” and “Dreamsville.”
Continuing with her survey of the somnolent revere, Naama follows up her initial single twofer with her second installment. Hitting the REM hard, the singer treats us to two more singles from her upcoming album, Dream With Me (La Reserve). For this twofer, Naama relies on her core rhythm section of pianist Jeb Patton and bassist Dave Baron augmented with guitarist Leandro Pellegrino, whose plectral skills .
“Street Of Dreams”
Victor Young and Sam M. Lewis, 1932, popular song, first recorded by Russ Columbo and His Orchestra (Victor, 1932). With pianist Patton laying out, Pellegrino’s fat guitar chordal tones inspire Naama’s bell-like vocals. Baron and Pellegrino open the song and tack down the song through the first verse and Pellegrino’s solo. The second verse features Naama and Pellegrino in a duet, joined again by Baron for the last verse and coda. Naama’s voice shows an effective evolution into a well-tuned and expansive instrument capable of expressing an entire palette of emotional hues. There are no rough edges in Naama’s singing. Her soft, round tones enchant.
“Dreamsville”
Ray Evans, Jay Livingston, Henry Mancini, 1958, first released by Henry Mancini Music From Peter Gunn (RCA Victor, 1958). In a slim 2:48, Naama broadens her substantive midrange, filling the edges of of the sonic portrait of love and romance. Patton returns to the band and gently combines with Pellegrino’s tender tones. With no solo space provided by the musicians, the song begins, develops, and ends like a brief and sweet reverie.
